Our Story

It is often said that concrete is the second most used resource on earth after water. We don’t know if that’s true or not, but we do know that Australia will produce almost 60 millions tonnes of it this year.

We also know that concrete is a highly energy intensive product to produce. The materials used are extractive, and difficult to reuse.

We believed there could be a new approach. An approach which would harness smart product design to develop a solution which can deliver all the benefits of traditional precast concrete products – speed of build, durability, and engineered – while avoiding the inevitable waste produced through demolition at the end of its life.

Since 2004, Envirocon has manufactured the Interbloc modular wall system. A unique precast concrete modular building system which delivers all the benefits of traditional concrete building products, and also can be reused over and over again.

Not only is it more environmentally sustainable, it is economically sustainable. A building product with multiple lives becomes a realisable asset. When you no longer need the structure, simply dismantle the blocks and on-sell them to the next customer.

Interbloc is a modular wall system. At the heart of the system is a 1000kg and 300kg block. The unique design of the block means you can build more wall, faster. At 600mm thick the wall is incredibly durable. What sets Interbloc apart is its flexibility – while acting like a permanent structure, it can be easily dismantled, moved, and reassembled.

Stonebloc is a retaining wall system. The core block weighs 300kg and, like Interbloc, has a unique interlocking design. This provides unparalleled speed of construction. The block design also provides a unique flexibility in design – from its a simple gravity wall or a more complex cantilever wall, Stonebloc is a fast durable option.

The look of retaining walls are important – that’s why Stonebloc has a range of facial textures and patterns to suit all occasions. Because we’re manufacturing all day every day we can easily change the colour of the blocks to suit your special requirements.
